Hey, Red…? Fire? Listen- uh- This is kinda out of nowhere, sorry if this is weird, but i couldn’t help but notice that you haven’t moved from that spot the entire time we’ve spoken… like, at all.

Why haven’t you moved? There has to be a cave or something nearby that can provide a bit of shelter from the snow and hail, right?

“… there’s… simply no reason to. how many times have i said that the cold is no concern? i’m fine here. i’m home.”
Red looks down at his hands as he speaks. They’ve remained firmly by his side the whole time….
I'm worried about the temperatures up here interfering with the drone feedback. We're, uh, having a lot of errors on our end. That's all there is to it. Trust me. Could you just do me a huge favor and take him out of his ball? Please?

Red looks nervous at the requests. He visibly hesitates, hovering his hand over a pokeball on his belt.
“… You all really want to see him that badly…?”
He takes a deep breath, and grabs it.
“….. Only for a moment.”
He lifts it up, and in a flash of light, the dragon-like Pokemon is released from it’s Pokeball. It looks around uneasily, it’s gaze landing on its trainer expectantly. You can see it breathing heavily, and… Shivering.
“He’s a bit feisty, but he’s a fine partner…” Red explains, “We’ve been together since day one. But you have to understand, he-”
With a particularly bad gust of wind, it winces.
CHARIZARD is buffeted by the hail!
It grunts in pain, the flame on its tail flickering and dimming as the freezing wind hurts it. In what almost seems like a panic, Red quickly returns it to its Pokeball, it’s time out nothing but a fleeting moment.
“I’m… I know what you’re trying to do.” Red mutters, “And I’m sorry. I can’t do that to him.”
“The only Pokemon unbothered by the cold this high up are ice types- the ones truly adapted to a climate like this. … A fire Pokemon can help keep you warm, of course, but up here, they’re freezing, too… They could get hurt again. …So I keep him in his ball.”
“….. Fire’s a nice nickname, by the way. you can call me whatever you’d like.”

("Warm at any cost" huh...? Hmm.... Gonna pocket that one for later...)

Hey Red, is there a particular Pokemon type your fond of? I personally have an affinity for Fairy types! What about you?

“I’ve always tried to have a well-balanced team… Bias towards a single type can open up glaring weak points in battle.”
“That said… I do have a fondness for Fire types. In fact…”

“My very first Pokemon was Charmander. He’s still on my team.”

Hey, Red… Do you have anyone you miss from off the mountain? Like, any friends or family? If I see one of them, maybe I could say hi for you…? I-If you’d like, of course.

Red looks up to the camera, but before the question can even transfer through the mic-
The feed goes to static, an odd error popping up on the screen.
Just as quickly as the error came though, it leaves just as fast.
And soon. the feed returns, like nothing happened in the first place.
“… I’m- I’m sorry, I didn’t… Could you repeat that?”
possiblyfunny:

Oh, shoot… I… I guess we did grow up together… How did I forget that?

But I guess that makes a lot of sense. That must be why you’re so cool to be around and easy to talk to, Red. You’re a long-lost friend!

“I… I guess you could say that. I’m…”
He wipes a hand over his face, trying to recompose himself.
“… Every… Everyone forgets things, sometimes. And… Sometimes you don’t remember until it’s too late.”
