HOW IT FEELS TO DISAPPEAR: DESCENT

[a brief image sequence of leaf, swallowed up by a blinding white light. she holds her hand over her eyes, and slowly lowers it as she looks backwards.]
… You’re alone again.
[turns to look forwards.
eyes widen.
a distant shot. leaf is in front of the entrance. the room is full of glitchy garbage. and across from her is a certain Someone.
reverse shot to focus on Him. he glares bitterly at her, his form looking as if it was being eaten alive by red glitches.]
“Who the hell are you supposed to be?”
His hoarse voice echoes through the Champion’s Chamber, or whatever kind of warped mockery of it this place was. You meet his bright-red eyes, staring down at you with some unfathomable bitterness… Your own anger bubbles at the sight of a stranger, standing in your place, looking at you with such hate as if you’re the one who doesn’t belong here.
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?”
“Like I’d tell you,” the stranger scoffs, smiling bitterly.
He raises a Pokeball up, signalling a challenge.
“Why don’t we show each other instead… Like real Pokemon trainers, right, CHAMPION?”
His words ooze with sarcasm.
[im out of ideassssssss so im going to try and put an outline here if anyone . wants to help
red at this point is still in his “anger” point of life, so hes less insane and more pissed off abt everything. doesnt talk as much yet, most words are scathing towards his ‘replacement,’ though with an underlying giddiness knowing shes sinking to his level in terms of being Erased from Reality .
the parts highlighted in red could probably be rewritten . im not sure how verbal red is here and in this younger state hes still in a perpetual state of choking on the water in his throat, so he cant talk much… maybe show more of his anger through body motion? battle can happen because he/the area refuse to let her leave. doors locked maybe and he like. grabs her. idk
leaf is pissed off too, and after getting past confusion, her own anger (towards reds successful ragebaiting) manifests as wanting to get out of here as soon as possible. she’ll try to brute force through the fight, almost forgetting abt how sick Loneliness is, and only speak to shout impulsively angry stuff back at red.
OH also instead of red throwing them from pokeballs i think itd be fun if they more . body horror’d out of him. each emerging from the glitches as he can summon pokemon with the coasts waters, and iirc the specific 'glitch’ name lance called him by was set up to summon bulbasaur, squirtle, and charmander with the old man glitch ^^

being summoned like that would make them pretty sickly and lifeless + theyre technically extensions of red so . theyre fucked uppp abt it
smth should also be mentioned that tips leaf off to the jacket hazel gave her being red’s bc i want to set up the next parts ending being her giving it back to him . smiles
uuuh for the rest of this im just grabbing the outline i had from descent outline doc . the parts that arent outdated atleast

- It throws the ball, and in turn, Eevee jumps out of your bag, no command needed- You’ve never made it fight, never wanted to- but it knows what it has to do.
The Pokemon that appears is a Bulbasaur. You heart drops- Pokemon 001. Your starter of choice. Its expression is blank, its colors are dull. You can tell its weak. Almost unnatural.
The figure whispers something you don’t quite catch, holding a finger over its lips. You pay no mind to whatever nonsense it mumbles, commanding Eevee to tackle. The Bulbasaur falls in one hit, and you feel another flare of anger that someone with such a powerless pokemon could stand in your place. As it sends out its next Pokemon, you remind yourself that nothing in this nightmare seems to play by the rules you know.
It mutters something else that you ignore, and a Charmander comes onto the battlefield, in a similar state as the Bulbasaur. You try to stop thinking too hard- this Pokemon always made you think of your brother.
Tackle. Eevee makes quick work of it. Your stomach turns a bit as you notice the flame at the tip of its tail die- as it’s called back, you try to convince yourself how that was just an urban legend.
The final Pokemon- it only had three..?- falls onto the field, and you bite your lip as you recognize a Squirtle. Blue’s partner of choice. Eevee growls, hackles raising and claws unsheathing as if even the sight of it overwhelmed it with hatred.
You open your mouth to command a third tackle, but you stop short as you hear the third word the opposing “person” mutters:
“Blue.”
Your mouth runs dry. Its smile seems to widen. You start to speak; “What do you know about my fr-”
You’re cut short as you hear the Squirtle cry in pain. You’d gotten too distracted to order anything of Eevee- your gaze drops and you realize in horror that it has sunk its teeth into the Squirtles throat. Blood splatters into Eevee’s face, its fur, across the floor of this broken arena, as it tears through the water-turtle’s jugular. It steps away, snarling, trembling, blood dripping from its mouth and onto its paws. The Squirtle collapses to the ground. Dead. The trainer recalls it regardless, unphased by the loss.
You look down at your bloody, sickly Eevee, a sense of horror coming over you. You never thought it had the capacity to do something like… Gods, your stomach is turning. You put a hand over your mouth, dropping to your knees and trying to choke back the bile rising in your throat. Eevee takes advantage of the chance to crawl back into your bag, staining it with blood and hiding from the world. You can’t stand to look at it long enough to gauge what it’s thinking.
You almost fail to notice the footsteps of you now-defeated opponent coming towards you. It looks down, the heavy shadows cast over its face making it look inhuman. All you can make out are those bright red eyes, and its unnatural smile.
“Congratulations, Champ.” it whispers, its voice a hoarse rasp that you can no longer ignore.
“Say, did you even hear me?”
… You shake your head. It laughs- some awful, gagging laugh, like it’s forcing it out while choking.
“… They tricked Blue.” it generously repeats. The simple statement you’d missed. “Hell… they’ve fooled everyone.”
It extends a hand out to you… Offering to help you to your feet?
