Oh, Professor…

[reaches for their shoulder, hesitating for a moment before tentatively making contact]

I… I can tell that this is a difficult topic for you to speak on, so I just wanted to say thank you for trusting me with it. I understand why you’re so dedicated, and I apologize for making you so uncomfortable.

But, all of your knowledge- all of your work- your research- it is worth something, and it will continue to be worth something. Your reasons for researching these anomalies are noble, Professor, and you- We- can make sure that your work will always be worth something by solving the mysteries of these anomalies, and spreading the word to all of the of the people who’s voices have gone unheard- who’s pleas for answers have gone dismissed. I- ha- I-I’m basically just repeating what you said. I’ve never really been the best with words…

M-Maybe I’m being a bit… proactive. After all, you just hired me, but for what it’s worth—I have complete faith in your research. I believe in it- every part of it. And for as long as you’ll have me around… I can promise that I’ll do everything I can to help you find those answers—and that you’ll never be doing this work alone.
