Hey, it’s me again! This isn’t an ask, just me yapping again. Hope you don’t mind!

Ever since it was posted, the flowers on Loneliness’s (and Leaf’s) grave has been stuck in my head, living rent free and bugging the hell out of me. It’s not a bad thing, but it was bugging me in a “you need to find what flower that is right now” kinda way.

So I had two ideas of what the flower could be, going off of the shape and the color.

My first guess was Harebells. They’re bell-shaped, they grow in small clusters on a singular stem and they have five petals. They symbolize consistency and everlasting love, along with some darker things like death and grief, as well as having associations with witchcraft and folklore. With the flowers name “Harebell” coming from the folk belief that witches would use the juices squeezed from the petals to transform themselves into Hares.

And my second guess was Gentiana Acaulis. Similar reasonings to the Harebell—they’re trumpet-shaped, multiple can grow on one stem and they have five petals. Gentiana has quite a few meanings associated with it. They symbolize intrinsic worth, integrity, justice and victory, with the flowers Victorian symbolism meaning “You are Unjust”. With Leaf’s character having so many mentions of/ties to Justice, at least from what I’ve seen so far, I felt like this flower fit the bill pretty well.

I genuinely contemplated typing this all out because I didn’t want to be annoying about this. Could this flower have been completely fictional? Yes. Am I overthinking a flower? Probably. Were any of the flowers I guessed the right one? I don’t know. But it was fun to think about flowers and their meanings for an hour or so.

Anyways, that’s all from me this time. I hope you enjoyed my ramblings. Leaf’s talksprites are gorgeous by the way. Keep up the good work and have a nice day! :)

Referring to this point in the story.
[I know I said I wouldn’t confirm or deny anything, but I will say the flower is a real flower thar was deliberately chosen, but it’s not either of your guesses. I don’t mind saying this as its symbolism isn’t a critical part of the story, but it does add to an aspect of Leaf’s character that (as of now) hasn’t yet come up.
I’ve considered saying outright what the flower is, in fact… theres already a post in drafts if i decide to, but I thought it’d be fun to allow you guys to speculate and see what you come up with ^^]
